How AI gives us more scope for personalised advice

At DocMorris, we are shaping the future of healthcare where innovative technology meets genuine human empathy.  

In an interview, Kristina, Head of the AI Service Automation team within our customer service department, provided fascinating insights into a world where artificial intelligence serves as a valuable tool to relieve the workload on our colleagues, thereby freeing up time to address the individual needs of our patients.  

Thanks to the use of Artificial Intelligence, smart tools and bots take on routine tasks. This allows the team to free up time and space for what really matters: providing empathetic and personalised advice and care to our patients.

This focus underscores the purpose of their work: “The approach we strongly pursue at DocMorris is not to replace people, but to create added value for them,” says Kristina.  

The real driving force behind the team  

For Kristina, her job is about more than just technology. What motivates her every day is the freedom to make a real difference:  

“What drives me? Above all, the incredible amount of autonomy. Here, we’re able to work in a very solution-oriented way and not only find the best possible ways forward for our clients, but also actually put them into practice.”  

She adds: “You actually face a new challenge every day and learn so much. It’s precisely this feeling of being challenged on a daily basis that defines the spirit of our team.” 

It all starts with the people

For us, technology is only as good as the knowledge behind it. Kristina is convinced that the greatest progress is made where technical expertise meets real-life experience. That is why close collaboration with colleagues in customer support is the absolute foundation: “The people who speak to our patients every day understand their needs and concerns best, she says.    

She and her team incorporate this valuable knowledge directly into the development of AI systems to ensure that the technology frees people up to focus on what really matters. “This input from our staff is essential to our work,” emphasises Kristina.  

Despite all the enthusiasm for automation and for trying out and testing tools, Kristina and her team always put the patient first. She makes it clear: “We never let technology run ‘blindly’. You need clear guidelines and always a human perspective on the results.”  

You don’t need to be a tech whizz to join us

What makes DocMorris special is that you don’t need to be a programming expert to help shape the digital future. Kristina adds: “It’s a massive opportunity, because getting involved in these topics has become much easier these days.”

An impressive example of this path is Bella: her move from customer service straight into project management for the AI Service Automation team was crucial in translating valuable practical knowledge directly into technical solutions.

Learning together: Our AI training courses 

To ensure that no one feels left to their own devices with the new technology, DocMorris has established a strong support network. In addition, digital, company-wide “AI Unlocked Sessions” are held once a month to provide inspiration and boost confidence in using AI, as well as to familiarise participants with various tools through practical tips and examples.  

Furthermore, internal departmental training sessions are held, offering something for every level, whether you’re a beginner or an expert.   

To provide further information on AI applications, guidelines, training and practical examples, a knowledge library has been created for staff.

We achieve real progress best when we work together. That is why we also rely on external input and work with Google in a strategic partnership.
