International Day of
Persons with Disabilities

On December 3rd, we gathered at DocMorris for a small but meaningful moment to raise awareness of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities. During a short lunch break, we planted a tree together in the garden behind the cafeteria in Heerlen as a sign of greater awareness and inclusion in this issue.

The tree stands as a small symbol of recognizing barriers in working life more clearly and better, including people with different needs and backgrounds. The day offered a fitting opportunity to bring the topic of inclusion into focus and show our appreciation.

The idea for the initiative came from our colleague Hassan, who organized a private bike ride in addition to planting the tree. His commitment shows how individuals can bring the topic to life across the team.  

Hassan describes his motivation as follows: "I was delighted that this initiative was important to DocMorris, our management, and the other employees. I am glad to have such great colleagues."

All colleagues were invited to take part in the tree planting, welcome Hassan on his tour, and engage in conversation over a healthy snack.

For several years, DocMorris has been working with WSP Parkstad, an employer service center that supports the company in its search for employees and specifically reaches out to people who are further away from the job market. This collaboration creates real opportunities.

In 2025, more than 40 colleagues with disabilities supported our logistics team and helped to process orders on a daily basis.

The day showed how valuable small gestures can be in raising awareness for an important topic and how much can come from a single initiative.
