We celebrate 25 years of DocMorris

A look back at a quarter-century of growth and transformation.Twenty-five years ago, a journey began that helped reshape healthcare across Europe. Today, DocMorris is more than a pharmacy. DocMorris is a digital health ecosystem. But behind every innovation are people with passion, ideas, and stories. For our anniversary, we look back and ahead. 

We spoke with colleagues who have been part of DocMorris the longest and heard some fascinating stories. 

What makes us special

What defines DocMorris is not only new ideas, but above all the people who make them possible. 

DocMorris stands for innovation, but also for togetherness. Nadine puts it perfectly: "I believe DocMorris is made special by its spirit of innovation — and by the people behind it." 

Nadine has been with DocMorris since 2004 and works in Clinical Services as a Senior Project Specialist. 

Embracing diversity in everyday life

Whether it's the pharmacy bus, video consultations, or the introduction of electronic prescriptions, DocMorris has never stopped exploring new paths.

“That's what makes the work exciting and varied,” says Stefanie, who has worked in Clinical Services and Pharmaceutical Quality since 2004 and even took part in the legendary pharmacy bus tour.

Unforgettable moments 

Anniversaries are more than numbers. They tell stories and show the development and journey a company has taken. These stories often emerge when it truly matters and everyone pulls together. 

Another colleague, Anne, sums it up well: “DocMorris is simply unique, special, and never stands still.” 

Anne has been part of DocMorris since 2003 and works as an Order Management Specialist in the Pharma department.

Manuela recalls one such night: “We had so much to do that we had to work a night shift. Even spouses helped out. Early in the morning, there was a small thank-you gesture—unforgettable!” 

She has been with DocMorris for around 22 years and works in Customer Service in the Non-Pharma team. Her memory shows just how much team spirit shines through in these moments. 

Nadine feels similarly and looks back on many special experiences: “It’s hard for me to highlight just one special moment. I’ve been fortunate to work with amazing colleagues on numerous innovative and exciting projects.” 

What changes and what stays the same

When asked what makes DocMorris special, Friederike answers:

“For me, the special thing about DocMorris is  our enthusiasm for innovation and the strong willingness to help one another.”

She proudly adds what has remained constant over the years: “The enthusiasm for innovation and the drive for continuous progress.” 

She has been with DocMorris since 2007 and leads the Clinical Services department in Heerlen. 

And indeed, some things remain constant:customer satisfaction, team spirit, and the joy of innovation. Karen adds: “I had the privilege of witnessing our growth from the very beginning.” 

Karen has been with DocMorris since 2002 and supports Quality Assurance in customer returns. 

Team unity at the heart of what we do

 Diana describes working at DocMorris like this: 

“When significantly more orders come in than expected during peak times, everyone pitches in and we tackle the challenge together. Because we all still have the same goal: to provide the customer with their order as quickly and as efficiently as possible.” 

Diana has supported the team in Heerlen since 2004 as a Senior Project Specialist in Logistics. 

Looking ahead

The coming years will be shaped by digitalisation, AI, and connectivity. The goal is a holistic health ecosystem that brings together advice, care, and prevention. Because at DocMorris, despite all technological advancements, the focus remains on what matters most: people’s health and reliable, safe healthcare. 

When asked what they wish for the company’s future, Nadine says: “I hope the company continues to be innovative and successful, and I wish for sustainable growth and high employee and customer satisfaction.” 

“I hope we continue to grow without ever losing our humanity,” says Birgit

Birgit has been with DocMorris since 2004 and works in quality assurance in Heerlen.

Michaela adds: “We have always fought to stay competitive in the market, and we will continue to do so in the future.” 

Michaela has been with DocMorris since 2006 and supports purchasing (backend) in Supply Chain Management. 

Thank you for 25 years of DocMorris

This anniversary belongs to everyone: our customers, who place their trust in us, and above all our employees, who bring passion to their work every day. 

Karen expresses her connection like this: “DocMorris is my life, you could say.” 

Birgit also emphasizes how important change is for the company’s development: “Without change, we wouldn’t be where we are today.” 

Diana describes the openness and dynamism she experiences at DocMorris: “DocMorris has been on the move for years. Whenever you feel like routine is settling in, a new exciting challenge is already waiting. It never gets boring here.” 

We look forward to the next 25 years together and everything the future holds!
